Amman: HRH Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein had an interactive session with the AFC Social Responsibility Committee members where they discussed past projects and future causes.

“Football as a catalyst for change lies at the heart of our mission as a committee,” said HRH Prince Ali, who is also the FIFA Vice-President.

He added: “AFC has a lot of potential to be a leader in Social Responsibility in Asia. As Chairman, I look forward to working with the staff at AFC and my colleagues on the committee to update our social responsibility strategy and capitalise on the power of our sport to strengthen communities, increase tolerance, promote coexistence and spur social, cultural and economic development.”

The event featured two brainstorming sessions in an effort to assess past projects and identify new causes for AFC to uphold in the future. The committee session also included three keynote presentations from UEFA’s Social Responsibility Department, Street Football World President (via Skype) as well as representatives of LG Harat (a Jordanian football project spearheaded by Hikmat Road Safety and sponsored by LG).

The sessions were attended by Dr. Kwak Chung Hwan, Advisor to the Committee, committee members; Mohamed Al Hameli (UAE), A R Khaleel (India),  Essa Al Mannai (Qatar) and Ms Yumi Tomei (Japan) as well as members of AFC’s Social Responsibility Department.
